On-Site Success: Expanding Richway’s Demo Days to Match Customer Demand

Here at Richway, we’ve always believed that seeing is believing, but getting your hands on the controls is what actually wins the day.

We just wrapped up our latest  Demo Days, where we brought together existing owners, prospective buyers, and industry partners for a deep dive into our machinery stack. Historically a single-day sprint, high demand and expanding fleet logistics created an opportunity for change: we officially expanded the event into a comprehensive, two-day training and equipment experience. Check out our quick 1-minute event recap video below to see the action, and read on for the core takeaways from our biggest live training event to date.

Why Two Days? Bridging the Gap Between Training and Field Execution

As a lean operation, expanding an event requires a significant commitment of resources, but the data from our field operators made the decision simple. Contractors don’t just want a quick walkthrough; they need technical mastery over material science, system configuration, and equipment maintenance to protect their margins.

By moving to a two-day structure, we completely eliminated the rush and divided our focus into two high-value, action-packed blocks:

Day 1: Seminars & Crucial “Wrenching” Sessions

We kicked off Wednesday morning with a hot breakfast followed by intense classroom seminars, featuring guest speaker Brian Lywandowsky from AiroFlow Concrete Solutions. Brian spoke on real-world applications in the field and overcoming obstacles in the cellular concrete construction industry.

Next up was Tony Borglum, Richway Industries President. Tony  went deep into the technical side of the business discussing pump selection, perfect machine configurations, the hard truth about “shrinkflation” volumetric loss in cellular concrete, and the vital mechanics of sampling and density control.

After a lunch from Via Sofia, we pivoted from theory to hands-on maintenance with our CT Series Deep Dive & Instruction. Our intensive “Wrenching Sessions” covered:

  • Slurry Pump Status: Exactly how to test and diagnose the wear and condition of your pump.

  • Foam Density & Ratios: Why water-to-concentrate adjustments matter to bubble survival.

  • Plumbing Shelf Breakdown: Deconstructing and understanding the physical system layout.

  • When S#!t Goes Sideways: A crowd-favorite tactical session detailing real-world field notes, unexpected workarounds, and vital QC best practices.

We wrapped up day one by treating our attendees to a fantastic dinner and wind-down down the road at the Pump Haus in Cedar Falls.

Day 2: Factory Tours & High-Output Field Demos

Thursday morning began with a continental breakfast and an exclusive, behind-the-scenes Richway Factory Tour before heading straight out to the dirt. Day two was all about pure equipment execution.

We fired up our heavy hitters for live CT-100 & MT-30 Field Demos, letting attendees witness and run a gauntlet of real-world tests, including water displacement, gaylord bulk fills, rapid density changes, a junk box test, and shallow race trench flow tests.

Following a prime lunch from Blue Barn BBQ, we spent the afternoon highlighting our compact continuous layout. We hosted a live CMS-7 Continuous Grout Mixer Demonstration alongside guest speaker Jeff Stacy, proving exactly how a single operator can cleanly manage an aggregate-rich or structural grout pour using standard skid-steer infrastructure. We officially dismissed at 15:00 right into a well-deserved Happy Hour.

The Verdict from the Field

The feedback from this expanded format was clear: giving estimators, fleet directors, and field superintendents the time to ask hard technical questions and pull their own calibrated density samples without a ticking clock builds massive operational confidence.

Attendees left not just knowing what our machines do, but exactly how to service them, troubleshoot them, and maximize their yardage output to completely eliminate ready-mix short-load fees and slash job site labor costs.

Missed the Event? Let’s Talk Fleet Logistics.

If you couldn’t make it out to the site this season, you don’t have to wait until our next regional event to see how Richway equipment can streamline your operations.

Whether you are looking to tackle high-volume geotechnical fills with a CT-100 or bring logistical freedom to your utility footprints with the CMS-7, we are ready to map out your equipment ROI.
